School Summary
STAAR test performance has been slightly over PISD averages at Carlisle for each of the past 4 years. Carlisle is on the larger side for a PISD elementary school, with an average of nearly 90 students in per grade. The mobility rate (percentage of students enrolling and withdrawing each year) is also noticeably higher than the PISD average, with almost 1 in 6 students (15.1%) moving in or out of the school in 2018-’19. That amount of student movement can have a negative affect on class continuity and teacher bandwidth, but Carlisle’s performance suggests it has not been a significant problem. Carlisle, Bethany, and Mathews are all fine elementary schools, and they are the only schools that feed into Schimelpfenig Middle School.
