Christie has seen its performance on standardized scores climb steadily over the past four years, as, for example, the percentage of Reading/ELA STAAR tests that met the state standard rose from 38% (2015-16), to 46% (2016-17), to 45% (2017-18), to 51% (2018-19). Despite its noteworthy and commendable improvement, Christie still ranks below the PISD’s performance averages, has a relatively high mobility rate (percentage of students enrolling or withdrawing each year), and is one of the largest elementary schools in PISD with an average of almost 115 students per grade.
