School Summary
Schimelpfenig has been one PISD’s top performing middle schools—along with Rice and Murphy—over the past four years. Over half (54%) of Schimelpfenig’s STAAR scores in 2018-19 demonstrated a mastery of grade-level content, which reflects a particularly high concentration of talented and committed middle school students. More than three-quarters (78%) of STAAR scores met the state standard, and only 7% failed to approach those grade-level expectations. The school is moderately-sized by PISD middle school standards, with an average of less than 300 students in each grade. Each of the three elementary schools that feed Schimelpfenig—Carlisle, Bethany, and Mathews—outperform PISD averages. Schimelpfenig graduates move to Clark High and Plano Senior.
