School Summary
Wells Elementary has a solid STAAR score performance, with scores fairly consistent with PISD’s strong averages. Nearly 2 out of 3 (64%) STAAR scores at Wells met the state standard in ‘18-19, and almost 8 out of 9 (87%) scores were at least approaching the grade-level expectations. The school size is desirably small, with an average of less than 70 students per grade. At 14.7%, the mobility rate (number of students enrolling and withdrawing each year) is higher than many other solidly performing PISD elementary schools. High mobility rates often have a disruptive affect on classrooms, as it can take considerable time and effort—from students and teachers alike—to help transferring students acclimate to a new class and new curriculum. Wells feeds into Haggard Middle, Vines High, and Plano Senior. You can learn more at the Wells PTA Facebook page and at PISD’s Wells homepage.
